Cyber World: A Powerful Tool, A Risky Terrain – Handle with Care

In an era where the world is fast shifting to digital platforms, Chhoo Le Aasman remains committed to raising awareness and educating society. Keeping in view the rising dependency on cyber space, especially during the COVID-19 lockdown, the organization took a proactive step toward educating youth and educators on the safe use of digital media.

On 30th June 2020, Chhoo Le Aasman in collaboration with the Civil Engineering Department of Government Polytechnic College, Nagpur, successfully conducted a webinar on Cyber Awareness. The webinar addressed critical concerns about online fraud, digital footprints, and cyber hygiene.

The session was led by Adv. Dr. Mahendra B. Limaye, a renowned Techno-Legal and Cyber Law Expert, who provided deep insights into the safe and responsible use of the internet. “Cyber space is powerful, but we must tread carefully, as carelessness can lead to serious consequences,” he stated. He also explained how to protect oneself while navigating the digital world, encouraging participants to be both alert and informed.

The webinar witnessed participation from college principals, department heads, and professors across Maharashtra, making it a statewide collaborative learning experience. Prof. D.S. Kulkarni, Principal of Government Polytechnic College, shared a real-life case of cyber fraud, stressing the importance of digital caution. Dr. Raut, Head of the Department, also appealed to attendees to stay vigilant and proactive.

The event was coordinated and hosted with great care by Senior Faculty Dr. Rajeshwari Wankhede and Prof. R.M. Walke. The behind-the-scenes efforts of the Chhoo Le Aasman team – Chitra Parate, Kajori Ganguly, Aditi Srivastava, Alpana Verma, Adv. Vivek Avchat, and Abhinav Agrawal – were instrumental in ensuring the webinar’s success.
